Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Upon starting a new order, the lamination machine operator must complete the Line Clearance Checklist form.
  • Responsible for taking first few layers off the master roll prior to running to keep rolls free of any debris.
  • Check the print quality, repeat length and key chart of a printed web before and after lamination.
  • Fill all the paperwork for each job being run and fill in all information required for that run (e.g., production report and QC sheet).
  • Responsible for completing Gas Chromatography Testing and reporting results.
  • Place all finished laminated rolls on clean cardboard on a pallet without protruding nails that would cause damage to the rolls.
  • Responsible for keeping all rollers always clean, including cleaning adhesive drums when using different adhesive and flush the pump system, checking doctor blade if it’s worn out or needs to be changed and checking gauge of film, the treated side, the coated side/ metalized side, sealing side and printed side of each material before lamination.
  • Responsible in reporting all problems and issues to the shift supervisor and recording reasons thru the out “Red Flag Report.”
  • Responsible to scan all the in/out rolls in iRen system and to make sure that the Production Report is accurate.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and always maintaining a safe work area, this includes the machine, worktable and workstation and, also completing the housekeeping checklist.
  • Perform all duties as outlined in the job description and any other duties that may be assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Manager.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as Laminator Helper
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant production/manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with wet, Dry, solvent and solvent-less based adhesive
  • Knowledge of Flexographic printing/laminating an asset
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task with a strong attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with a desire to learn new skills.
  • High energy level, positive attitude and able to work effectively with other departments.
  • Ability to take and provide clear direction.
