Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

 

Build accurate prepress ready artwork in an efficient and timely manner;

Identify missing or problematic components in production matrices and communicate them to the appropriate project manager for resolution;

Ensure all jobs are marked correctly for size and colour;

Ensure all QC procedures are followed;

Provide technical advice, support and participate and assist in on-going training as needed;

Communicate effectively with supervisor, co-workers, project managers, customers and all pre-production personnel;

Read and understand job requirements before beginning assembly process;

Make logical and creative decisions when working on complex layouts;

Follow client brand style guides and maintain consistent files;

Follow job instructions listed on production matrices and meet expected timelines;

Comply with all SOPs and maintain quality standards including outputting lasers for internal approval, performing quality control checks on final output, maintaining and naming files in proper location;

Check customer’s electronic files for completeness and potential issues;

Work as part of a team, follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in the Continuous Improvements efforts;

Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Act and all other applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations;

Available for overtime to meet our customer needs as required;

Other duties as assigned by Management to support the team.

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

 

Post-Secondary education in graphic arts along with a minimum two (2) years’ experience in graphic arts industry specific to large format digital print (LFD) or production art;

Thorough understanding of various substrates and their uses in relation to LFD equipment and production;

A good understanding of imposition for digital large and small format printing, iCut, Die-cut, production, various substrates, and artwork requirement.;

A highly organized, creative, and logical thinker with an attention to detail;

Ability to read and interpret documents such as dockets and procedure manuals;

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with project managers and employees;

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple jobs simultaneously & managing prioritization of issues on a daily basis;

Strong knowledge of print processes and the direct affect to the artwork;

Strong skills in PC-based software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of Microsoft Office;

Experience with prepress software, PitStop Pro, Print Factory an asset.

Additional skills that would be an asset:

Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
