We are looking for a CNC Operator who will be responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce quality products according to drawings, specifications and production schedules while adhering to safety standards.

The pay range for this position is $22 to $24 per hour, commensurate with experience, education and internal equity. This range is provided to ensure cloarity and promote equitable access to employment opportunities. 

When your actions lead to success:

Machine Operation

• Operate AXYZ CNC routers and related finishing equipment.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Execute CNC programs according to production specifications and work orders.
• Monitor machine performance during operation and adjust as required.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and finished product quality.

Setup and Programming

• Set up tooling, fixtures, and material hold-down systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and production files.
• Make minor program edits using AXYZ control software as required.
• Perform test cuts and verify setup accuracy before production runs.

Quality Control

• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges to verify dimensions.
• Identify and report defects, material issues, or equipment concerns.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.

Maintenance & Housekeeping

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
• Change and inspect cutting tools, bits, and consumables.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all safety regulations.

Continuous Improvement

• • Recommend process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Assist with lean manufacturing initiatives and workflow optimization.
  • Support training of new operators when required.

When your expertise drives us:

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in CNC machining, manufacturing, or related field is considered an asset.

Experience

• 2+ years of experience operating CNC machinery, preferably AXYZ CNC routers.
• Experience in signage, display manufacturing, printing, woodworking, metal fabrication, or related industries preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is an asset.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of CNC machine operations and machining principles.
• Ability to read production drawings and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills and experience with CNC software.
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
